Preschool and Extended Day
Ages 3-6
 Children
between the ages of two years nine months and six are
eligible for enrollment.Toilet training is required.
Dearborn Heights Montessori Center is open to children of
any race, color, religion, national or ethnic
origin.
Half day classes meet from 8:30-11:15 a.m. or
12:30-3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. All children
attend one of these sessions for five days each week,
remaining with the same teachers and classmates. Classes
are balanced by age and gender.
Extended Day is an optional additional academic
session for kindergarten-age children. The child spends
half of the day in a preschool classroom and the other
half with only kindergarten children.
We have a complete Montessori program, with full
equipment in all areas: Practical Life (washing,
polishing, sorting, personal care, food preparation,
etc.); Sensorial (texture, weight, size, color, shape,
sound); Mathematics (proportion, counting, decimal beads,
computation); Language (verbal development, pre-writing
and writing, pre-reading and reading); Geography (large
puzzle maps and related materials), and Botany.
