"The field of nature where the teacher will be initiated
into
'the observation of the phenomena of the inner life' should
be the school in which
free children develop with the
help of material designed to
bring about their development.
The child can develop fully by means of experience in his
environment. We call such experience 'work'."

Admissions
Children between the ages of two years nine months and
six are eligible for the preschool-kindergarten program.
Elementary and middle school classes serve children in first
through eighth grades.
We encourage the parents of prospective students to
observe the school before applying for admission. This is
best done by appointment. Preschool children are generally
accepted into the school in the order in which they apply,
with the following exceptions: current students, siblings of
current students and children with previous Montessori
experience are considered first. A separate admission
sequence is followed for elementary and middle school
students.
Dearborn Heights Montessori Center does not discriminate
on the basis or race, color, religion, national, or ethnic
origin in the administration of its educational or admissions
policies.
We will be happy to answer your questions in person or
through e-mail. Call (313)359-3000 or e-mail our Admission
Director, Laura Springer, at e-mail.
